Being the social media animals that we are here at Samka, we noticed that Applicances Online are running a compeitition to win a unique dining experience at The Cube by Electrolux, in London. You can enter the competition by ‘liking’ the Appliance Online facebook page.
You may, or may not, be aware that we actually took care of some of the architectural metalwork used at The Cube venue. Samka Architectural Solutions was ‘called’ in when the project was nearing completion and needed a push with regard to the structural steel framing and balustrade. Perched on the roof of The Royal Festival Hall, The Cube offered unique constructional time pressure and constraints. Our client needed bespoke steel support gantries to carry the modular restaurant and glass and stainless steel balustrade to guide restaurant guests to their place of dining. The glass balustrade had to be to a high standard and conform to rigorous BSE standards. The steel work had to be completed to 5* restaurant level and be able to be installed and dismantled with minimum fuss.
If you are in London between September and December 2012 you can see The Cube in its entire splendor located on top of The Royal Festival Hall.
Dining at The Cube by Electrolux is a unique opportunity to watch some of Britain’s top chefs cook for just 18 guests high above the hustle and bustle, against a backdrop of the River Thames, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.
